Arthur Raymond Lee
The General If you are receiving this E, then you are on my Dad's (A.R. General Lee) E address book. My Dad passed away July 1st, about a week before his 76th birthday. He had complications with lung cancer, the treatments and pneumonia. He didn't want an obituary, funeral or memorial. I thought my Dad was ten foot tall and would last forever. I just became a grandfather but will never fill his shoes. It's been a tough week for me and I will be a long time morning his passing. I will monitor this E for a while before dropping his AOL account in case I can answer any return mail. I loved him dearly. I hope all of you will think of him as a good American, wonderful parent and a great guy. C Ray Lee @ argenlee@aol.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I never met the General, but I had the good fortune of getting to know him through the e-mails that he and my mother (Joyce Word) would send to each other. It didn't take long to figure out that we had a great deal in common, and became e-mail buddies. I am praying for you and your family. I am going to miss his humor and patriotism. May God bless you and your family and know if there is anything we can do to help ease your pain, please let us know. Jim Word~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ray was a good man, a good friend, and a good Biddleman. He was the true Hard Charger. I was always proud Ray and I shared names....both Arthur Raymond. He will be surely missed. Our prayers and sympathy to Ray's family. Ray and Kathey Treadway~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear Ray.... So sorry to hear about your Dad... I worked with him in Shop 41 Boilermakers...and learned many things from him.... he was also a big help in getting my Nuclear Instructor and Nuclear Planners positions at NNSY... I was always grateful to him..and told him many times, which lead to my Federal career up here in Washington DC. He was quite a man...like the BIG BAD JOHN song from the 70's... he was one guy I would NOT want to be on his bad side. :-) We have emailed over the years, and will miss that. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and the extended family. God Bless. Tom Beacham~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ray, I am so sorry to hear of the Passing of your Dad. Know that he loved you and your family very much, He would talk about you to me when we saw each other. He was a good friend of Milton "Mike" Powell who passed suddenly in May, 2012. Mike and I would see him often at Dr. Tan's office when the two fellas were getting their chemo treatments. Before your Dad and Mike were diagnosed, he had come to the Hospital to see Mike. The night before I had fallen and knocked myself out. Oh I was a sight to behold all black and blue with just a tiny bit of the white of left eye visible through all the swelling. This was the first time I met your Dad and he was so kind to me. We shared e-mails and phone calls even after Mike died. Once again how kind he was to me and in his efforts to comfort me when my buddy Mike passed. I am sure you must have many more fond memories of this kind man your Daddy our General. He called me on June 29th and I was so happy he was feeling slightly better and he chatted to me for about 15 minutes. It was privilege and honor to have known him even for a short time. He had a great impact on me. With a heavy heart I say good bye to a fine friend. Bev Toole ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
