A STATEMENT:
It is a fact of life that freedom isn't free and that a strong national defense is necessary for our country's existence. World War Two and the Cold War were proof of that in the 20th Century and now there is the War Against Terrorism.
...the attacks of 11 September 2001 on America demonstrated in horrifying detail how there is no end to dangerous enemies and that military might will always be needed to protect our citizens and way of life.
...it is heartening to know that those who serve in the US Armed Forces are fiercely dedicated warriors intent on victory.

2012 PLAN FOR HULLNUMBER.COM:
For the past 12 years I've run HullNumber.com and have developed a feel of the state of our Navy veteran community. The economy has reduced reunion attendance, we are busier and our WWII and Korea era Shipmates are fewer and fewer.
Hullnumber.com is dedicated to keeping the spirit of comradery alive among our Shipmates. In 2012:
- HullNumber.com will begin posting reunion listings and notifying crew members.
- HullNumber.com will glady trade links to any Navy site to increase their traffic
- HullNumber.com will host any Navy web site in danger of closing .. as many have.
I ask that you pick up the phone and call a Shipmate, send them an email or go visit a friend your served with.... Let's keep it going!
