Steve's mail explaining the photo's.
I had to do a presentation on Vietnam, last week, to a local group. I digitized some of my pictures taken in Feb/March of 1965 when we were down south in the Market time operation. They are of a small village, Son Ong Doc. I don't recall ever seeing any photos of this on the Vance web. I am second from the left, front row, in photo (tn_sod010_sm.gif). I have some others (12), of a shore battle we were involved in; when I send them maybe someone can tell me when & where. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Most of the attached are of a shore battle that we were in close support, I took the pictures and they are numbered because they were sold to the crew by those numbers. I do not know when or where this battle was, any idea? There should be 20 pics, hope I don't overload your inbox. I developed all of them in the darkroom I had on board ship. The darkroom was in the chill compartment on the o1 level, at the top of the ladder overlooking the aft deck. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
