Lieutenant Commander Ross WallaceWright, USN, was born in Missouri on March 9, 1926.
He attended the University of Tennessee and George Washington University.
He was a member of the U.S. Merchant Marine from 1943 to 1953, attaining the rank of Chief Mate.
His first duty was in the amphibious command ship TACONIC (AGC/LCC17) from which he was transfered to the
destroyer MOALE (DD693). He later served as Commanding Officer of the tank landing ship DEKALB COUNTY (LST715).
His shore duty included tours in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.
He was advanced to his present rank on July 1, 1961.
Lieutenant Commander Wright is married to the former Anne Catherine Renzi of Providence, Rhode Island.
Lieutenant Commander Wright has been selected for promotion to Commander and departs for duty in the
Office of the Chief of Naval Personnel. |
