Joe,

I wanted to share this with you:
We lost our precious Dad on April 7.
He had been in the hospital for 2 weeks battling pneumonia and heart issues. Last Friday, he was moved into a rehab center to prepare him for returning to his apartment at The Waterford. However, God had a different plan. He suffered a fatal heart attack on Monday. We were blessed having him as our Dad. There is a void in our lives that can never be replaced, but the loving grace of God will be there to help all of us with our loss.

Our Dad talked often of the visit that you made to San Antonio. He was very proud of his service. His coffin will be draped with the Flag in honor of his service during the war. I cannot thank you enough for your visit.

Blessings, Carolyn

Very sorry to hear of Arthur's passing. I am glad that I had a chance to meet Arthur, a Vance shipmate, a few years ago. The visit was short but rewarding.
Carolyn, thank you for putting me in touch with your DAD.
