Reasons for reading about the Vance= Vance/Naval history, Other
Comments= I served aboard the USS Iowa, 1951-1955. In 1951, Ensign Marcus A. Arnheiter was Junior Officer in the "K" Division (Radar). We have just completed our ship's reunion in Corpus Christie, Texas, and Arnheiter still is talked about, mainly due to his rather bizarre and gung-ho actions as a junior officer. His actions on the Vance brought it all back to us. Everyone seems to have a story about former Ensign Arnheiter.
