Reasons for reading about the Vance= For a Friend who served in Vance
Comments= While serving on the Hepburn, we had an Electrican report on board (1969)and who had served on the Vance. I had read the Arnheiter Affair, and he told me a few tales of woe. In 1982, I served with a GMC Cole, who later became an LDO, but he had a serious run in with Arnheiter and it really screwed up his advancement until people in the Navy on the Selection Boards, learned about what had happened. If my memory is correct, he told me that he had turned a weapon on the Captain, and got Court Martialed
