Reasons for reading about the Vance= Served aboard
Comments= Three tours in Viet Nam, first tour with a destroyer called the USS Picking (DD 685) in 1966. In late 1969 I was returned stateside to serve out my remainder of duty on the Vance, stationed in San Francisco at the time. She was a good ship with a good crew.
