Reason for reading about the Vance: To find shipmates, My family history
Comment: My father served on USCGC Vance in 1952 to 1953 as Damage Controlman first class. I retired from the Coast Guard in 95 as a DCC and currently serving in the Merchant Marine aboard and MSC contract ship as a second engineer.
My father's name is Lowell E. Montgomery, he is now a retired CWO-3 and lives in Sebring Florida.
