Reason for reading about the Vance : Research
Comments: I reported on board the Vance Dec. 6, 1960 as a RDSa and swapped to the Wilhoite just after it came back from Operation Deep Freeze .....March or April '61 as the Vance was next to go to Deep Freeze and i did not wish to go.....there were 5 of us from the Vance who swapped to the Wilhoite. I was discharged from the Wilhoite as RD-2 in Feb. '64.
